James was born in the great state of Texas in 1981. He began cooking at 22 for stand alone restaurants in the Dallas/Fort Worth area before starting with Wyndham Arlington as a Junior Sous Chef. In 2006, James began a 10-year career with Marriott holding many titles including Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage at different hotels including the Tempe Buttes Resort, Albuquerque Marriott, and Baton Rouge Marriott. In 2016, James was recruited by Troon to Show Low to be the Director of Food & Beverage at Torreon Golf Club where he worked for 9 seasons, leaving as the Assistant General Manager. James enjoys all seasons in the White Mountains and spends all his down time with his wonderful wife and two amazing sons hiking, kayaking or traveling.
